NEW RELEASE: JILL'S JEMS EASTER/SPRING 2010 DIGITAL IMAGES

I finally finished the sketches for these images today and scanned/colored them this evening. As I was in the process of creating these I realized as much as I like to draw, my real PASSION is coloring. I love to see the images come to life as I add layers of color to a white piece of cardstock.

I hope you like the new images. I like them all - but my personal favorite is the bunny stuck in the plastic egg. He just makes me smile.

If you would like to purchase the new images, send me an email (the link is at the top left of this post). Please be sure to state EASTER IMAGES in the subject line so I don't overlook your order. I will invoice you through Paypal ($17.95 for the set)and will email the images to you within 24 hours of payment confirmation.

Thanks so much for your support.

SWEET TREAT

Mmmmmm! Cupcakes! I LOVE cupcakes. They are just the right size - not too much cake - not too little. But of course that part doesn't matter for me - because I eat one right after the other! LOL!

I made this card for one of my nieces. She turned 9 this year and she LOVES the color pink. The cardbase is Stampin'Up! Chocolate Chip - theirs is the ONLY colored cardstock I use because of the high quality. I will apologize for the color tint to the photo - my chocolate brown ribbon & paper looks black - couldn't fix it in the photo which is too bad because the card is much richer looking in real life (IRL).
The image, colored with Copics, is from a set by Inkadinkadoo appropriately titled: CUPCAKES. The Designer Paper is also from Stampin'Up! - it is one of the designs from the SENDING LOVE papers in the current Occasions Mini catalog.

My favorite part: the button that makes the cherry on top! Isn't that cute? I'd love to take credit for the idea - but I actually saw it on a card somewhere and stored away the idea for future use.

This was another simple layout - nothing spectacular in design - but all the elements made it a card I was pleased to share.
Totally unrelated to cardmaking is this next photo. I took it last night at sunset and thought it was so pretty I wanted to share it will all of you.

That's all for today - thanks for stopping in.

FREEBIE FRIDAY: TOP O' THE MORNIN' TO YA

As promised, today is FREEBIE FRIDAY.

This is Lucky the Leprechaun. He's a jolly, little guy - not so mean and ornery as most leprechauns. And though he's not brought you the pot o' gold, he hasn't arrived empty handed. How about a nice bouquet of clover?

I printed my version of Lucky on GinaK Luxury White cardstock and colored him with Copic markers. The background cardstock is Stampin'Up! Garden Green (what else could I use with leprechauns and clover????) and the Designer Paper is from a pack of "OLD WORLD" designer papers from Hobby Lobby. The little clover in the bottom left corner was created by punching out 4 small, 5-petal flowers then trimming off 3 of the petals leaving a heart shape. I glued 4 to a piece of white cardstock, added a stem, a tiny green button in the center and some shading with Copics.

Right click on the line drawing, save to your computer and have fun coloring. Please remember that if you publish a project using this image - whether in print or online - link back to this blog and provide credit to me as the illustrator.

Enjoy - and until next time

Happy Stamping!

MY! HOW TIME FLIES!

I knew it had been a while since I posted anything new here - but I've been busy adjusting to life as a single woman - and after all these years, it's a HUGE adjustment! No, I have not divorced my darling hubby. He has just taken a 2nd shift position at a local hospital and since I work 1st shift our paths cross only when he crawls into bed around 12:30 a.m. and I get out at 5:30 a.m. I FEEL single. You would think since my evenings are TOTALLY free from distraction that I would get TONS of cards & other projects completed wouldn't you - but in reality, I feel unsettled most evenings and can't focus on anything. I think part of it is this LOOOOOOONG Winter we're having here in Central Illinois - I'm so ready for Spring!!!!!

So, all that said, yesterday was a bright, sunny day here and I felt energized for the first time since December! I completed a few drawings for a new digi-image set, I colored some cute PENNY BLACK images, participated in a few online color/sketch challenges and watched 5 episodes of NCIS while I was having fun!

This is a card I made to participate in a couple of the Splitcoaststampers challenges. The first one was the sketch challenge and the other was a color challenge.

All paper product and embellishment on this card is Stampin'Up! I used Basic Gray & Whisper White cardstock, Always Artichoke Brads and an image from a retired stamp set (sorry, but I've forgotten the name this morning). I stamped the image first on Whisper White using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with COPIC markers. Then I stamped the image again on a square of SU! Designer paper in Chocolate Chip Ink and colored it with Copic markers. The sentiment was stamped in Basic Black ink directly onto the Crushed Curry Designer Paper making it look the same color as the Basic Gray Mats. Very quick and easy - but definitely as bright and cheerful as the day I made it.

Here are a couple of other cards I've made recently but didn't have time to post. The images are from my Jill's Jems Valentine 2010 set. Both images were stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (available at Hobby Lobby) and were colored using Copic markers.

The background for "Wanna Monkey Around" is the new DP from Stampin'Up! which is available in the Mini Occasions catalog. The backgroun for Draco the Dragon was created using a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. I love this one with dragons, alligators, snakes etc. It looks so reptilian don't you think????

Thanks for stopping by today and being patient while I adjust to evenings alone. Make sure to stop back by tomorrow - I'm planning a FREEBIE FRIDAY surprise!!!!!

Happy Stamping!
